We use the word "law" to refer to a number of different things. In a socio-political context, it refers to a set of rules established by various institutions, created either with or without the involvement of citizens, and which the entire population is required to obey or face penalties. When crafted well, with the well-being of the majority in mind, these laws help create the social “order” to which everyone subscribes.
In physics, however, the word “law” does not refer to anything imposed or agreed upon by a majority. Rather, it refers to a statement that describes how the universe works, based on observations and evidence that can be verified in a variety of situations. Scientists call such a statement a "law" because, as they say, the universe "obeys" it.
As human beings living within this physical universe, we are affected by these physical laws. It is not so much that we are required to "obey" them; rather, failure to align with them will have negative effects in our lives. A good example is the Law of Gravity. Any attempt on our part to go against this law will have immediate consequences.
When we speak of a Spiritual Law, we mean something similar to what scientists mean by a physical law: we are stating that the spiritual universe operates in a particular way, following certain inherent principles.
It is not that we humans are required to "obey" such a law. Rather, the law describes the nature of the spiritual universe as a whole. If we accept that we are manifestations of Spirit and therefore part of that spiritual universe, then the law is also describing our true nature. This is why it is in our best interest to accept the law and align with it.
Thus a Spiritual Law may be defined as a set of values that provides guidance and structure, promoting well-being. It offers the framework through which we may choose to align ourselves with the reality of how the spiritual universe works. In doing so, we are able to pursue our well-being and fulfil our true purpose. This, in turn, steadily reveals the true nature of Humanity.
The Wisdom Teachings define a Principle as "that which embodies some aspect of the truth on which this system of ours is based".1 We could say, then, that a Principle is an objective reality in the Spiritual universe, whether we perceive it or not, whether we are conscious of it or not, and whether we choose to align with it or not. Because the Principles embody aspects of truth, they can offer orientation and direction to our lives, much like a compass. They challenge us to seek deep alignment with the essential truth they express. As we align ourselves with a Principle, its energy — as Roberto Assagioli tells us — "redeems, unifies and heals" us.2
We can think of a Spiritual Principle as the central idea or underlying truth that the Law expresses. This is why, as we deepen our understanding of a Law, the Principle behind it is gradually revealed.
An example from our daily lives may be helpful. We build roads so that we can have safe and reliable transportation. For roads to fulfil that purpose, they must be built around the principle of order, however that may be interpreted. We then create laws to preserve that order, such as laws that limit the speed at which we may travel. When we follow these laws, order is maintained and manifested.
In the Spiritual Universe, the Principle of Essential Divinity is revealed by the Law of Spiritual Approach; the Principle of Unanimity is revealed by the Law of Group Endeavour; and the Principle of Goodwill is revealed by the Law of Right Human Relations.
The function of the worldwide group of creative meditators is to contribute to the anchoring of these Laws and Principles on earth and in the consciousness of Humanity, thus revealing the true beauty of Life.

The function of focalisation is a privilege. It is about becoming an active and conscious channel within a group or system, holding its awareness at multiple levels simultaneously. This is the function of the focaliser.
Focalisers work with energy, sensing the group field and observing the dynamics. In that function of sensing, they are seeking to align at many levels.
One of the most important things that focalisers seek to align with is the purpose of the group. To achieve that, the focaliser must first sense the Purpose as a living entity with Spirit, Quality and Form and align with it; second, facilitate the whole group to be able to draw from its own wisdom in order to understand and relate to all those three aspects with as much depth as possible; then lead the group effort to synthesise that wisdom and articulate it so that it can serve as guidance.
First and foremost, focalisers are connecting at the highest possible level, seeking contact with the clearest expression of the future that they can perceive. From there they seek to awaken it in others. By working with this focus on the higher energies, they are aspiring to open a channel of communication (with the higher wisdom available to them) that flows through them and into the group. They open the pathway to understanding the next steps that the group can or must take in service of their purpose.
We might liken the function to that of sherpas on the mountain trek, going ahead of the group, to find the next steps on the path, the steps that will be secure enough for everyone and leaves no one behind.
The quality of the "channel" of focalisers is hugely significant. As we each pursue our individual path of development and inner growth, so we purify our own vehicle on all levels, enabling us to become channels of integrity and purer energy working through ever greater impersonality. The intuitive impulses that arise become more magnetic and useful for the group service.
The focaliser also pays attention to the group dynamics to build a group field and channel that are as pure as possible. Within this field the group then strives toward being as useful as possible in receiving the impulses from the hierarchical guides that hold the understanding of the Plan.
The focaliser is seeking to oversee the whole system energetically, dynamically and practically whilst simultaneously knowing their function to be present within a wider group system and field.
Whether we are participants in a group or have a formal focalising role, each of us can participate in the function of focalising, firstly by the quality of our own presence and, from there, as a member of the group.
Perhaps a basic statement for us to remember is that we are focalising every time we hold the whole and not just the part. We are all responsible for pursuing and nurturing group cohesion in support of the Purpose, and for holding the whole and not just the part. This is will and love in action.
Focalising, therefore, is the foundation of effective group work, supporting the growth of group consciousness. The focalisers’ task is to help a group achieve its potential—the potential to become in the form what it already is in its etheric blueprint: a single living unit, conscious of being One because all parts align themselves around a living purpose. In this way, the focalisers nurture group consciousness and group cohesion.
Focalising is, then, about pursuing and nurturing group cohesion in support of the Purpose. This, in turn, is the function of the worldwide group of Creative Meditators, as together we align with the unified purpose to anchor the Laws and Principles of the New Age here on earth.

Crisis is an inevitable part of life and evolution. In our individual lives, within groups, and across humanity as a whole, crises arise whenever there is friction between Life (Spirit) seeking expression and the forms through which it attempts to manifest. These moments of tension are not accidental interruptions to the path or deviations from it; in many ways, they are the path itself. Crises reveal what can no longer remain as it is and prepares the ground for a new stage of growth. The task of conscious human beings is, therefore, not to avoid crisis, but to bear it, understand it, and hold the vision of what is trying to emerge through it. All wisdom traditions remind us that this is how humanity evolves.
On an individual level, crises often arrive as sudden shocks that bring hidden emotions to the surface: fear, sadness, anger, or confusion. Through repeated encounters with crisis, we learn acceptance, courage, and forgiveness. We begin to trust the transformative process itself. After passing through the heart of the crisis, we can open to experience a sense of greater freedom, fluidity, and authenticity, as though something limiting has been released. This is why a crisis can be seen as an alchemical process through which the old is transformed and wisdom emerges. Over time, we may even become grateful for our crises — grateful not just despite the pain they bring; grateful even for the pain, because we know that it is the symptom of deep growth.
The same dynamic exists at the group level. Families, communities, organisations, and nations all experience crises because groups, like individuals, possess both a soul and a personality and thus they experience friction between spirit and form. Since group personalities are shaped by a mixture of qualities and distortions, collective crises are often more intense and painful than individual ones. Yet group crises are also essential opportunities for transformation. They can lead to awakening, expanded understanding, and evolutionary progress. For this to occur, a group must cultivate humility, courage, and the willingness to face its challenges honestly.
In times of group crisis, the central task is collective alignment. This requires moving beyond personal positions and individual desires and into an exploration of group purpose. It calls for compassion toward ourselves and others, or what we know as "loving understanding"!. A group in crisis is asked to remain within a current of Love, letting go of attachment and aligning itself with a larger shared vision. Every crisis a group is able to face consciously contributes to the development of group wisdom and it represents an important step toward group consciousness.
Perhaps even more importantly, a group that is able to live the process of crisis consciously becomes a deeper instrument of service. Drawing on the teachings of Roberto Assagioli and the Tibetan Master, we know that groups are essential because higher spiritual energies can only be effectively anchored through group formation. A true spiritual group becomes "a magnetised centre of force, purpose and spiritual light"1 dependent on the purity, selflessness, and alignment of its members. Thus a group that is able to use its own crises consciously and move toward collective alignment, is planting these seeds of wisdom and consciousness within the body of humanity. In this sense, group work becomes a co-creative process aligned with the spiritual evolution of the whole.
All wisdom teachings suggest that the ability to handle crises positively is a hallmark of spiritual maturity. As we bear our individual crises and participate in groups undergoing their own, and as we seed humanity’s field with our courage, surrender and trust, we are participating actively and positively in the recognition of crises as intrinsic to the evolution of consciousness. This is an important aspect of our service in a world undergoing profound transformation.

The task is, through meditation, to establish the knowledge of and the functioning of those laws and principles which will control the coming era, the new civilisation and the future world culture. Until the foundation for the coming "jurisdiction" is at least laid, the Christ cannot reappear; if He came without this due preparation, much time, effort and spiritual energy would be lost. Therefore, we must assume (if these premises are accepted) that there must be organised—in the near future—a group of men and women in every country who, under due and proper organisation, will "simultaneously and unanimously" meditate upon those juridical measures and those basic laws upon which the rule of Christ will be founded and which are essentially the laws of the Kingdom of God, the fifth kingdom in the evolutionary and natural processes of planetary unfoldment.

Roberto Assagioli—a World Server internationally known as the father of Psychosynthesis—was deeply inspired by the resonance and magnetic appeal of this call to service issued by Master D.K. on behalf of the Hierarchy. At the Arcane School Wesak Festival in 1952, Assagioli announced his intention to respond. Foster Bailey, equally moved by D.K.’s request, assisted Assagioli in finding co-workers who could help bring the project into manifestation. When Michal Eastcott and Nancy Magor responded to Bailey’s call, a triad was formed, and The Group for Creative Meditation on the Laws and Principles of the New Kingdom of God came into being.
Over the following years, this founding triad built the group’s magnetic field, energised its purpose, and supported the emergence of an international nucleus of co-workers who formally began their work on 21 December 1957, with their headquarters in Sundial House, England. In a letter to Bailey dated 2 July 1956, Assagioli reflected on the unfolding project, noting that he “realised more and more that in reality the project is not ours, but the Tibetan’s, or even, in a certain sense (let it be said with reverence) Christ’s own project… a vital and necessary part of the preparation for His coming. Therefore it deserves… all the needed dedication and most careful planning.”
Since that time, thousands of men and women have participated in the simultaneous and unanimous work the group carries out, meditating on the Law of Right Human Relationship, the Principle of Goodwill, the Law of Group Endeavour, the Principle of Unanimity, the Law of Spiritual Approach and the Principle of Essential Divinity throughout a yearly cycle that commences on 21st December and is divided into two-month study periods.

Many of these individuals have been inspired to create other groups with the same Purpose, thus contributing to the establishment of a vibrant international network that today extends through the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, New Zealand, and many other countries.
Creative Meditation—with its stages of reflection, reception, visualisation, radiation, and affirmation—is a very powerful practice that helps to create the pathways by which the Laws and Principles may live.

Each of the Laws and Principles can seem quite lofty and aspirational. And as we open ourselves to understand their full meaning, they can at times seem simultaneously self-evident and elusive.
Yet the Laws and Principles of the New Age are a powerful and living formula, made visible for Humanity to embrace at the very core of its consciousness and which will manifest the true Beauty, Joy and Harmony that sits at the core of Life—a profound expression of the good, the beautiful and the true.
We can consider “livingness” at three levels. At the elevated level of Spirit, livingness is a Truth. It exists. It is a dynamic felt sense, the essential spark of life that courses through us. At the level of the Soul, livingness might be expressed as Quality—the rich, magnetic and deeply uplifting essence of who we really are. At the level of Matter or the Personality, livingness could be seen as the behaviours, attitudes and thoughts we exhibit each and every day. Following this framework, we can approach the livingness of the Laws and Principles through the same three levels.
Let us take the Law of Right Human Relations as a case study. Here we might reflect on the aspects of Truth we perceive as we reflect on Humanity being in Right Relationship with all living things. These truths might be expressed as: “we are all part of a vast whole” – the organism of Life; “continuous contact between the parts is a reality” – we are interconnected; and “relationship is the basis of our existence”.
When we consider the level of Quality or essence, we can see the livingness of the Law in so many actual qualities such as a sense of responsibility, understanding, compassion, love and harmlessness, to name but a few. Each of these qualities contain layers of subqualities and together create a matrix of interconnectedness that express the highest Quality of the Law. Through the stated qualities and others in the same family, we can find a more accessible pathway to bringing the Law of Right Relationship into our daily lives as well as seeing it in action in the lives of others.
And, finally, at the level of Matter or the Personality: each day we encounter our own personality in action as well as those of people within our sphere of life. At the top of the iceberg, the visible part above the water line—visible through daily interactions—will be the behaviours we all exhibit, the attitudes we convey and the thoughts we think and often express outwardly. These are all visible and tangible expressions of how we are living the Law of Right Human Relations. A simple choice to allow someone go ahead of us in a queue or to check in on the well-being of a neighbour are expressions of Right Human relations in action.
To encounter the true livingness of a Law or Principle, we must work at all three levels. Yes, we can change our behaviours and attitudes, but these will only radiate at the fullest vibrational level if they are imbued with Quality and qualities. Similarly, our desire to enter into a deep connection with the underpinning Truths of a Law or Principle will anchor the Law or Principle with a fiery power that will be revelatory. It reveals and substands all, providing both the foundation and the pinnacle.
The Laws and Principles are living entities, just like us. They have vitality and permeate Life. Our work as servers and as Humanity as a whole, is to come into a dynamic and joyful relationship with them, opening ourselves and others to their power. As creative meditators, we can go a step further and help to anchor the Laws and Principles within the consciousness of Humanity. This is joyful service indeed.
